SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs)

The UNITED NATIONS’ Sustainable Development Goals are their attempt to provide guidance on how organisations can step-up to being both ethical and sustainable.

Organisations and corporations are seeing the SDGs as a model in which to adopt in their drive to be sustainable.  Increasingly businesses, corporations and organisations generally are keen to become actively involved in the sustainability arena.

For individuals this is a great scenario because it means that change towards sustainability is being driven along, and for once it’s not about profits, but more about the ethical standing of these organisations.

Of course the powerful driver that is infuencing these organisations is the demand by consumers for greener, more sustainable products and services.  And also because governments are going to impose punititve taxation, organisations that don’t comply will be at a disadvantage.
